Using Your IPad: Tips And Tricks

You do not have to use a wall outlet when you need to charge your iPad. You could charge it using a USB device. In other words, if you are out, you can charge it through your laptop.

Did you know you can connect your TV to your iPad? If you wish to do this you will need to purchase a separate adapter. Seek out a digital AV or an Apple VGA adapter. Either one will work.

Control your notifications. If you use many apps, chances are they are often popping up or alerting you with sound. Fix this by navigating to Settings > Notifications. By controlling your notifications, you can avoid constant alerts. That will help you be notified by whatever you find most important.

Do you dislike typing? Use the speech-to-text feature to “type” instead. All you do is press the microphone key and then start dictating your text. To stop dictation, just press the key again. Clicking a second time turns your speech into text that can be edited for errors.

If you are sick and tired of being notified of a local Wi-Fi connection, change your settings. There is a selection in the Settings menu to disable Wi-Fi messages. By choosing that option, you will never again be bothered by the invitations.

Get to the sounds under general settings if your side buttons aren’t performing their functions. Be sure you have the feature that allows you to change volume with buttons enabled. Use the slider to set your preferred volume level.

Some people hold the iPad horizontally while taking photos. This way, the shutter button might move, and there could be wobbling as you shoot the photo. You can always push the lock for the orientation. Doing so keeps the button right by your thumb. When done, turn the images with the image editor.

Do you hate seeing constant notifications for connecting to a Wi-Fi network? This is easily remedied. Visit “settings” and then “Wi-Fi” and deactivate your “ask to join” option. Do not worry if you would still like to join a particular network. It is still possible; annoying notifications just will not pop up.

Your password information can be protected by setting it to erase if someone enters it incorrectly a certain number of times. This will erase everything on your phone if someone has not figured out the code after 10 tries.

If you almost always have Internet access, the cloud is very helpful. This is great to store data without taking a lot of space on the hard drive of your iPad. Make sure that you save critical documents to both your iPad and the cloud.

If your children are using the iPad to surf the web, implement appropriate protection. Go to your Settings menu, open up General, then Restrictions. When you get there, hit your “enable restrictions” button. This setting blocks content that is rated too mature for their age. Adult content in videos, websites and shows will be restricted.

If you do not have a lot of time, you should never charge your iPad with your iPhone charger. Your iPad doesn’t have the same wattage as your iPhone which is 10 watts as opposed to 5 watts on the phone. When you’re in a hurry, this will be a big deal. Use the charger that came with your iPad instead.

It is not necessary to click on your bookmarks icon to access your favorite websites from your iPad. You should activate the bookmark bar. Go to your Settings screen, click Safari and then go to Always Show Bookmarks and switch this to the On position.
